BCHW Form W-9 Instructions
An IRS Form W-9 is required from anyone before any non-business/independent contractor type
payments are made. The chapter is responsible for obtaining the
W-9 from each person before making any payment to or requesting an
reimbursement from BCHW.
Form
W-9 is a request for Taxpayer Identification Number and
Certification. The IRS Form W-9 is used to obtain the
Social Security number or Federal Employer Tax ID number from a person or independent contractor (also called freelancers).
This is most often
for the purposes of issuing them an annual Form 1099-MISC for any
contract payments made by BCHW. For BCHW, a W-9 is needed
before any payments are made to anyone for things like stock packing,
any other for non-business equipment operating or renting expenses
or any other independent worker supplied services. A Form 1099-MISC will be issued by BCHW for any relationships where more than $600 for labor and services paid in a calendar
year.
BCHW
requires a new W-9 every year for anyone providing packing
services or other relevant services before reimbursements are made
from BCHW.
